Tell us a little bit about yourself and your business. How did you get started, and what inspired you to use visuals to help grow your business?
I'm Dr. Subra Mukherjee, a Mind Mapping and Visual Thinking Coach, writer, and educator.
My mission is to empower individuals and organizations to master four Focus Areas of Life - COCP:
Clarity
Organization
Creativity
Productivity
I harness Mind Mapping techniques, backed by science, to achieve these goals.
After 13 years of teaching, research, and an entrepreneurial journey, a realization struck me:
“Everyone deserves a happier, more awakened life.”
To break barriers and help people explore their potential, I transitioned from Professor to Mind Mapping Coach. I founded Map Ur Mind, with the aim to impact one million lives.
As the founder and coach of Map Ur Mind, I've trained over 2,000 individuals, reached many more through books, keynotes, and TEDx talks.
I authored two Amazon Bestsellers:
The Invisible Yoke
The Power of Self-Awareness
I've always been a visual learner. Linear thinking limits potential, which led me in 2020 to embrace mind-mapping and radiant thinking to empower people.
Map Ur Mind (MUM) is my initiative to help people embrace Mind Mapping as a way of life for a better future.
How do you use visuals to communicate your ideas or products to your audience?
As a mind mapper, harnessing the power of visual and divergent thinking is paramount for assisting my clients and mentees.
The guiding principle here is simplicity; visuals should remain uncluttered, using color, codes, keywords, and imagery judiciously to evoke emotions and aid retention.
My specialization lies in employing the transformative power of Visual Thinking and Mind Mapping to support individuals in various tasks.
This includes helping them master the pillars of COCP (Clarity, Organization, Creativity, and Productivity) and extends to crafting compelling speeches, storytelling, and brand messaging.
Moreover, I assist clients in defining their customer personas, conducting market analysis and research, as well as managing everyday tasks, such as daily scheduling and creating process maps.
I also aid aspiring authors in employing mind-mapping techniques to write their books.
In essence, I apply the versatility of Visual Thinking and Mind Mapping to empower individuals across diverse domains and challenges.

Can you share some specific examples of how using visuals has helped you attract new customers or clients, or helped you stand out from competitors?
Using visuals has consistently allowed me to stand out.
Time and time again, my audience has shown appreciation for the visuals and mind maps I incorporate in my presentations and webinars.
Incorporating mind maps, visuals, captivating graphics, quotes, and illustrations in my LinkedIn content and book has not only facilitated a stronger connection with a wider audience but has also attracted my ideal clients.
As a coach, Mind Mapping and Visual Thinking have consistently set me apart.
What tools or software do you use to create and edit your visuals?
Canva, Others, Sketch drawing
Are there any tips you have for someone who is just starting out and doesn't have a lot of design experience?
When starting out, simplicity is your friend.
Avoid overcrowding your designs with too many elements. Embrace clean and uncluttered layouts.
Observe, and Learn from your surroundings. Look at designs you admire and try to understand what makes them visually appealing.
Start with small tasks, gradually challenge yourself with more complex tasks, and continue learning and experimenting to improve your visual thinking abilities.
How do you measure the success of your visual content? Do you track metrics like engagement, clicks, or conversions, and how do you use that data to inform future visual content?
I don't actively monitor my metrics, but I frequently receive DMs and messages through various channels from individuals expressing their appreciation for my content.
Some content gets a very good response and the message is clear that the people found it valuable.
Interestingly, at times even the content that doesn't garner widespread attention directly leads to valuable client connections.
So it is a kind of non-linear relationship.
Do you have any advice for other creators/ solopreneurs who are just starting out and want to use visuals to help grow their business?
Before you start creating visuals, have a clear understanding of: "What is that you want to convey."
Remember that building a strong visual presence takes time, so be patient and persistent.
Focus on providing value to your audience through your visuals, and as your brand grows, you'll see a positive impact on your business.
What are some common mistakes to avoid, or tips for creating visually engaging content on a budget?
One of the most common mistakes I see is over complicating or cluttering the design. I strongly believe, simplicity is the key.
